(November 28, 2023) It’s that time of the year when we recap Housing Nantucket’s progress in developing year-round homes for Nantucket residents. Excitingly, there are 25 new units currently being built, featuring 22 apartments on Wiggles Way and three homes on Honeysuckle Drive. Applications for Wiggles Way should be ready in the next 1-2 months, just in time for a late spring move-in. Several more opportunities are in the planning phase. Additionally, a significant renovation project was completed on a rental home that previously housed a family for over twenty years. Earlier this month, a new family moved in. Moreover, we’re installing solar power systems capable of generating 80 kW across various sites, along with many other related projects.

These initiatives demand substantial financial support, and it’s our donors who make our work possible. A big shout out to our allies at Nantucket Bank, a division of Rockland Trust, for initiating our year-end fundraising campaign. Vice President Neil Martilla toured one of our jobsites after personally delivering a check, as seen below. 

We’re also grateful for Dr. Jeffrey Drazen and Mrs. Erica Drazen, who have reaffirmed their support for our cause this month. Contributions from Oceanviews Property Management, Suzanne Kennedy, and Louise Middleton have significantly advanced us towards our objective of reaching $100,000 by New Years Day.
