(November 28, 2023) Progress continues at Wiggles Way, the 22 unit development of mixed-income affordable housing on Fairgrounds Road. If you’ve been keeping up with our journey, you know this project is an example of what can be achieved through community collaboration and support.

Last week, we visited the jobsite and checked in with some of the many busy workers along the way. We’re excited to share the pictures below. As you’ll see, the finish line is in sight!

Electrical inspections, interior finishwork, and utility connections are all underway.

The site will be entirely solar powered thanks to the generosity of ReMain Nantucket, support from Nantucket’s Affordable Housing Trust, and a Gap Energy Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP).

Crews laid infrastructure under the parking area and carport solar array.

Inside the buildings, workers installed tiles in bathrooms.

Painters kept a keen eye on the details, focused on finishing the job at hand.

Trimwork and other finish carpentry progressed at a steady pace.

It’s exciting to see the fruits of this incredible community effort come to fruition. As progress continues over the next few months, we will announce specific details about the application process for the 22 units. Households earning 50-80% AMI will participate in a lottery and households earning 81-150% AMI will be chosen from our Ready-to-Rent list. More information can be found here.
