Honeysuckle Drive Construction Progress
Paving the way home for three families
(May 25, 2023) Late last year, we announced our parternship with Richmond Great Point Development Company to build three single-family units on Honeysuckle Drive. It has been so exciting to watch the progress over the past few months from our office windows. Currently, framing is moving full-steam ahead as all three units progress in succession.
Housing Nantucket’s goal for this project is to create three new stable housing opportunities, permanently designated for middle-income households residing on Nantucket year-round. This income bracket is grossly underserved, leaving integral members of our workforce in a very vulnerable position. Dual-income households can exceed the income qualification criteria of our existing programs. Yet open market opportunities remain financially unattainable.
Collaboration and community partnerships are the foundation for our organization’s success. Currently, the Richmond Group is developing surrounding lots in the Sandpiper Place neighborhood. Partnering with Richmond on this project has allowed us to capitalize on efficiencies already in place to swiftly complete this project.
