Wiggles Way
More progress every day
(February 23, 2023) Thirteen months after breaking ground at our Wiggles Way development, progress continues at a steady pace. If you’ve been following this project, you will recall our coverage of the foundation pouring and the modular boxes delivered by barge. Additionally, we shared big news that the site will be entirely solar powered thanks to the generosity of ReMain Nantucket, support from the Town, and a Gap Energy Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP).
This month, we completed exterior work and started interior finishwork at two of the eight buildings (Buildings #1 & #8).
At Buildings #2 & #3, exterior sidewall is nearly complete. Interior rough mechanical and finish work (interior trim) is underway.
Buildings #4 & #5 have each been set on their respective foundations and are being made tight to weather.
Buildings #6 & #7 are the next and final foundations to be implemented. The boxes are on-site and ready to be set on their foundations.
Steel infrastructure for the parking canopy was delivered and electrical work has begun for the solar installation.
As progress continues over the next few months, we will announce specific details about the application process for the 22 units. Households earning 50-80% AMI will participate in a lottery and households earning 81-150% AMI will be chosen from our Ready-to-Rent list. More information can be found here.
This project would not be possible without community collaboration and support, every step of the way. The expertise, enthusiasm, and support has been unmatched. We can’t wait to see the culmination of this community collaboration in a few short months. Stay tuned for more updates!
