Nantucket's lack of community housing has reached a crisis level. The need for affordable community housing on Nantucket has never been greater. We know that the community has strong support for community based housing. Our teachers, firefighters, police, administrators, service workers, and long term residents are all central to our future as a community.

While we have a sustainable rental income and actively seek out grant funding opportunities - we continue to have shortfalls in our general budget related to providing resources for the community. A major renovation project on our rental units - nearly $500,000 - put a severe strain on the resources of the organization. Your tax-deductible donation to Housing Nantucket will help us meet the pressing needs.

Housing Nantucket has a long tradition of working pro-actively with many local, state, federal, and non-profit partners to utilize community resources to expand affordable community housing opportunities. Grant funding from the Community Preservation Committee and the Community Development Block Grant have been used to provide new programs to island residents. We have also received funding from the Tupancy Harris Foundation of 1984 and the Bank of America Foundation. Successful partnerships rest at the core of Housing Nantucket's innovative approach to developing housing.
