In 2000, the Nantucket Public Schools was facing a crisis with their staff. Employees were not able to find housing that would mesh with the needs of their salaries. A task force was assembled, land was located and designs were created for the project. Out of this process came the Cow Pond Lane Apartments. These twelve units of housing - a mix of one, two and three bedroom units - were developed through the Nantucket Education Trust, a 501(c)3 organization.

Cow Pond Lane Apartments accepts applications once yearly (generally in April or May) from Nantucket Public School staff for these units. Applicants may renew their leases up to three years. Rents generally range from $1050 to $2250, reflecting a below market rate. If you would like to apply for a unit, click on the link above labeled "Application."
